It has been a few years since we have stayed here and, as noted by some previous reviews, they have and are in the process of upgrading the sites. There is no cable but most sites appear to be satellite friendly. We were able to get the Wi-Fi at our site. Even if you are not here for the casino, it is a nice cheap overnignt stop with FHU just off I-35.

Rate reflects various discounts. We stayed here twice in October for a total of 10 days. I have numerous previous reviews on this park and was tempted to give it a 9 for the first time. In the past, I have encountered too many instances of poorly behaved customers. During my October visits the park was never really crowded enough to determine whether or not this has changed but management has instituted several policies to improve the situation. For example, they have installed several speed bumps and limited access to the pool to the front door of the lodge to prevent non-guess use and other problems. I wont know until I stay here next year on a crowded weekend to see if these changes have improved the situation. Personally I don't have a problem with them charging for Wi-Fi. When you consider their top rate is less than $25 a day, even $4 a day for Wi-Fi, this park's cost is low for a resort with all these facilities. As an aside, where a previous reviewer (06/09) came up with a daily rate of almost $40, I have no idea. To repeat my prior comments, this is a very good park except when other customers are, to put it mildly, really inconsiderate.

The rate shown is due to "free stay" coupons due to previous gaming. As usual, we stayed here twice on our semi-annual trip south in October (the other is in May). This is our RV park of choice in this area but I still cannot understand how it gets 9s and 10s. In addition to the other negatives (limited number of cable channels, the park's brightness at night, etc.) I have mentioned previously, the park lacks any in park recreational facilities and the sites really are not that roomy when everybody parks their tow/toad next to their RV. Additionally, a recent reviewer mentioned picnic tables under shelters every few sites. I can recall only 2 such shelters which makes their available and convenience very limited. The sites themselves do not have picnic tables. The only reason for my negative comments is to let folks know that this is a good but certainly not great RV park.

I agree with the mostly positive reviews for the park. It has FHU, at site Wi-Fi, and both pull-through and back-in sites. There is no cable TV but some sites are cable friendly. I'd call ahead to make sure you can get a "friendly" site if you want to use your dish. The pool was obviously closed for the season and appeared to be on the small side. There is nothing within walking distance of the park except the fairgrounds. This is a good park for an overnighter crossing Missouri on I-70 or for a few days to check out the area.

This was our second stay here this year due a necessary northward start to out annual fall trip down south to MS and LA. As I noted in my July review this is an above average RV park. As it is near the end of the season up here, there were only about 15 rigs in the park. Surprisingly, the WIFI was not very reliable. When we were here in July with a full park, the WIFI worked fine.

It is kind of hard to review a MN RV park this time of year. There were only a dozen other RVs in the park and things like the pool were closed for the year. Most sites are full hook up and some are pull-through. Although there is no cable, they do have some sites that are satellite friendly. There isn't anything within walking distance even though it is right off the I-90. It is OK for an overnight stop or a family weekend getaway in the summer (the pool is larger than most small KOAs). We only stayed her because we had an appointment at Winnebago (about and hour away in north central Iowa) the next morning.

We have stayed here numerous times over the years and agree that it is a decent park with FHU cement sites. Unless you are coming for the casino, it is only worth coming here because of the price. You will, however, lose a few bucks of that savings because it is about 15 miles off of I-55. I couldn't find the free ice this time and didn't feel like walking over to the casino to inquire about it.

We spent one night here after the Labor Day weekend and the park was not very crowded. The end of the row spot we were assigned would have given us an unimpeded mountain view from our left side. Unfortunately, the site was occupied: that camper had evidently taken the wrong site. We ended up in what was supposed to be their site with a view of them instead of the mountains. Not a big deal but I have to wonder whether or not the other camper knew they were taking the wrong site because of the view. Still, it is the park's responsibility to make sure that customers have taken the assigned sites. The park has good facilities (FHU, cable TV, Wi-Fi and a pool (unusual for this area))and the sites are decent. There are 360 degree mountain views from everywhere in the park. You can walk (less than a mile) to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center of Rocky Mountain NP to the west and several restaurants to the east. Nice enough park, but we decided to try one of the other RV parks in the area for our second day.

This a small, terraced park on the eastern edge of Estes Park. The facilities (FHU, cable, and WIFI) are good but the sites and the park, in general, are probably too tight for many larger RVs. Others may have a problem walking up and down the terraces. There are a couple eateries within 1/2 mile to the west, but the center of "touristy" Estes Park is about 2 miles. There are mountain views to the south and west.

This was our third summer in a row staying here to see my nephew stationed at Ft. Carson (he had just returned from a year tour in Iraq). The park still has good facilities and sites. From what I was told, there is new ownership. The only changes I noticed were a rise in the rates, a few new lodge/parkmodel cabins, and a reduction in the variety of menu items for their park cafe. None of these are positive changes for the RV customer.

As indicated by most of the previous reviews: this is a well run, popular KOA with lots of activities for kids and families. We were surprised to find it full the weekend after Labor Day. Turns out that it was customer appreciation weekend so many of the regulars and seasonals were there for a final summer getaway. Actually, it probably was just as well to have a lively park for the last night of our 2+ month trip. The park itself is nice but has what could be problematic for some. There is no cable TV and, since most of the park is heavily treed, only a few sites are satellite or big rig friendly: and those appear to be taken by seasonals.

This is a very nice park about 25 miles west of Des Moines and less than 2 miles north of I-80. Most sites are nice, open pull-throughs with full hookup and WI-FI. Since they don't have cable, we requested a dome satellite friendly site. Unfortunately, the site they gave us had a tree perfectly positioned to block our dome. There were plenty of empty sites that were more open, but I didn't want the hassle of changing sites, so I stayed in the assigned site. Antenna reception from Des Moines was fine. There is absolutely nothing near the park. The small town of Adel is a couple miles north and even the interstate exchange to the south has no facilities - not even a gas station.

This is our third time in four years staying here on our way home from our summer trip. Once again, I still think it as good as any full service park in Nebraska.

I did not run into any of the problems recent reviews complained about. Then again, the park was sparsely occupied: maybe 30 of 120 sites. It has FHU, Wi-Fi, cable TV and a pool. We did have a problem with our dirt site. Since the low branches of the small trees brushed against the RV no matter how we positioned the RV, we asked to move over a site or two. After setting up, I discovered that I couldn't get a cable TV signal. I also tried the boxes on the sites adjacent without luck. The girl in the office insisted that she thought the system was working fine and there was no one else available to help me until the morning. I didn't feel like moving again so we went without the cable for the night. Before we left the next morning, I queried a different office girl and she admitted that they were having problems with the cable in that row. I don't appreciate it when office staff are poorly informed and the customers suffers as a result. I dropped my rating 1 point for that fiasco. There are a number of small and fairly large casinos and restaurants within walking distance of the park.

In general, I agree with the comments of recent reviewers. The park has the facilities desired by most of today's RVers and seems to be clean and well run. It was not full during our visit, so it may be different during more crowded conditions. For example: the Wi-Fi worked fine for us at our site. There is little within walking distance, so you need a car to get to town, stores, restaurants, casinos, etc.

We have stayed here before and once again I agree with most of the positive comments about the park. While I can understand how things like site size and urban noise can cause some folks to downgrade a park, I would still like to know why some reviewers denigrate the area where the park is located? See my 08/07 review. I did have a Wi-Fi problem that was probably due to customer usage since the park was quite full. This is a very good park in a convenient location.

There really isn't much to add to the previous reviews. They have covered the facilities and what is nearby. This is a very good, reasonably priced park for travelers who want FHU, Wi-Fi and cable TV for their overnight stop.

Like many of the parks I have been in since late August, this park was sparsely occupied. It has FHU, Wi-Fi, cable TV and a pool. Everything worked fine and we were able to enjoy the pool with just a handful of others. That's been a rarity on this trip. There were some trees and in this otherwise typical desert landscape. Sites were adequate sized. There was a decent restaurant at the park entrance and you can walk to the Green River. The main part of town is across the bridge over the river about half a mile.

We enjoyed our mid-August weekend here. As others have noted this park has FHU, cable (70+ channels), and WIFI (it worked well for us at our site near the office). Again, as others have mentioned, there are a lot of park models (and many seasonal/extended stay customers)and the park and sites do not appear to be that big rig friendly. I am not sure how many sites they have available during the summer season for a one or two night stay. Although within walking distance of some restaurants, other RV parks, a public beach, and the harbor, you have to drive to get into town.

This is a decent park with good facilities (FHU, Wi-Fi, cable, and a pool). It is nothing special but certainly an adequate stopover. I did not find the "skeeters" to be as bothersome as some of the previous reviewers. There are numerous stores and restaurants within a mile of the park.

We stayed here a number of years ago when this park first opened and remembered it as being a high-end resort. Fortunately for us they do allow Class C RVs and were having a $30/night special. Even with all the seasonal and lot owner sites, the park was less than half full. We stayed 2 days because of the "cheap" rate and rather dismal coastal weather our second day: why travel/sight-see in fog and rain? Other reviews have commented on the quality of the facilities and amenities. While I understand the park's appeal for full-timers and older RVers, the normal price ($50) and retiree atmosphere is a little too much for my tastes.

This was our first time here in about 10 years - it was not nearly as built up back then (no mall across the street). In-spite of some of the poor reviews given this park earlier in the year, we decided to stay here for the weekend since the main complaint (urban noise - trains, planes, and automobiles) does not bother us. The park has good facilities (FHU, 2 pools, limited cable, Wi-Fi, and adequate sites). Our main problem was that we had requested a roof satellite friendly site at the time we made our reservation and reiterated this request when we checked in. Our site was between two 30" trees and we could not get reception. We asked for another site (a number of more "open to the SW sky" sites were in our row). We were told the sites were booked. By the time we left on Sunday morning, at least 2 of these "open" had been vacant all weekend. It appeared that we were lied to and the staff was too lazy to do what little work it would have been to let us switch sites. Not good customer service. As big as this place is, there are not that many sites for over nighters in season. Most sites appear to be seasonal or extended stay (that's not counting the large "trailer" park next to the RV park).

We spent 2 days here to visit both Arches and Canyonlands National Park. The park is heavily treed and the sites are probably a bit tight for big rigs but all the facilities (FHU, cable TV and Wi-Fi) worked well. There is also a small pool. There is a large grocery and several other stores and restaurants within blocks and the center of this tourist town is only a mile away.

We stayed here 2 days so we could visit Mt. St. Helens: the park's main attraction (Johnston Ridge Observatory) is only about an hour's drive east with numerous other visitor centers and viewpoints along the way. Previous reviews have described the park's facilities which are above average and most sites are satellite friendly. There appeared to be numerous extended stay customers and the staff was friendly.

This is possibly the best full service (FHU, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi) RV park on the western side of the Olympic Penninsula. It is a well run, clean park with excellent facilities and mostly above average sites. I don't consider being next to a "trailer park" relevant to the park's rating. We stayed here about 10 years ago and it appears to be a much nicer park now.

This is one of those KOAs that seems to be the epitome of the chain. It has a variety of facilities from tent sites to cabins to FHU pull-through sites with cable TV (40+ channels) and Wi-Fi we were able to get our site. There are lots of families and vacationers when in season. Sometimes, a lively park is a nice break from those that are almost too quiet.

Adequate facilities (FHU, cable, WI-FI) for an overnight stop. Other reviews are accurate in their descriptions of the park. Most sites appear to be occupied by seasonal/extended stay customers. Except for a Fred Meyer store a quarter mile down the road, you need a car to get to the main part of town. This was another park on this trip where the park was almost too quite in the evening - not many campers out and about. Certainly not a park for families.

As others have stated, this park has almost all the desired facilities: FHU, pull-through sites, good cable TV(70+ channels) and free, at site, Wi-Fi. It is a great park for the travelling RVers or groups but I would not recommend this park for families as there is no pool or other kids to play with. It was one of those parks that was almost too quiet: I walked around the park several times between 3PM and 9PM and there was almost nobody out and about.

We had stayed here 2 years ago and had no problem getting a pull-through site during the week without a reservation. This year they were full on a Monday as we traveled south along the coast. A week later we were able to get the "so called last available" site. It was a back-in and very unlevel. As we were trying to set up, the guy from the office came over and said he made a mistake and the last available site was XX, not the one he gave us. Fortunately that site was more level, so it worked out for the best. It seems that more RVers are using this park for extended stays on the coast. The park has adequate facilities (FHU, cable, and Wi-Fi) but as others have noted, the sites do have some problems with leveling and sewer placement. The convenient, in town location may be the reason it is now difficult to get a site here without a reservation in the summer. As I mentioned in my review 2 years ago, the park has no recreational facilities (pool, playground, clubhouse,etc.). It has nothing for kids, or adults who want something to do in the park.

This an very good park with FHU, cable TV, Wi-Fi and a pool. The older sites are under nice shade trees and as good as any in most parks. The newer sites are more open are a match for most high end parks. From my discussions with the staff, the park is not going the high end RVs only or the selling lots route. That's good news for us little folks. The center of town is about a mile and an half to the east but the main retail area is south of there.

In spite of the previous reviews, we decided to stay here because we wanted to be in Port Angeles for the weekend rather than in one of the out of town parks. While I can understand some of the prior negative comments, I do not believe this park is as bad now as it may have been several years ago. There are still many permanent sites and the sites available for overnighters are small and tight. The sites have full hookups with decent cable TV. The park worked for us but probably would not be acceptable to many other RVers.

This park has FHU, 70 channel cable, and WIFI in a parking lot type setting. The sites are adequate if the park isn't very full but would be claustrophobic if it was. As previously mentioned, you can walk into town as well as nearby restaurants, the harbor, and several other RV parks. Not a great park, but certainly adequate for overnight or a few days to see the area.

This is our third time here in the last 10 years and this park has everything we want (except an oceanfront location) in a coastal Oregon RV park: FHU, 70+ channel cable, WIFI at your site, adequate sites, and walking proximity to town. Safeway and Fred Meyer are just minutes outside the park and downtown is maybe 20 minutes. This factor makes it more convenient than some of the other parks in the area.

As many previous reviewers have mentioned, this is an attractively landscaped, fairly new, small park with FHU, cable and Wi-Fi. Unlike some others, we had no problems with the Wi-Fi even though the park was quite full. I also did not find the sites to be too close together, but do admit that you can hear I-5 which does not bother us. There is not much for kids and there seemed to be a lot of extended-stay customers. Just about every imaginable fast food joint is within blocks of the park but I did not see any grocery stores nearby.

Nice little park with very good facilities (FHU, 60+ channel cable TV, and free, at site Wi-Fi). As previously noted, park is just a gravel lot so there is no visual appeal. Very good for an overnight stop and could be used for touring the area.

This is a very nice park with good facilities (FHU, cable, WI-FI, and a pool - unfortunately closed while we were there on a weekend in August). Many of the sites are taken by extended stay customers - mostly Pacific Northwest locals according to the license plates I saw. There were 3 RV site areas of the park. Two seemed to be mostly the aforementioned extended stay folks and the third area where we were had only about 10 of 50 sites occupied - surprising for an August weekend. This was another park on this trip were there was very little activity in a park with so many occupants. There are a number of stores and restaurants withing a mile of the park.

This is a strange little park. It is a tight, parking lot style park one block off the the main street of "downtown" Leadville. There seems to mostly seasonal/extended stay customers in the park. I am not certain how many sites are available for overnighters in the summer. The facilities (FHU, cable TV, and Wi-Fi) all worked well. The site was tight, a bit unlevel, and hard to get into and out of. Unless you want to visit Leadville and spend the night at over 10,000' (which we did), most folks would not be happy with this park. We however, enjoyed our stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at this small KOA run by a youngish family. However they have only a dozen full hook-up sites, the cable TV is about as limited as it gets (6 channels), and I could not get the Wi-Fi at our site after two RVs set up between us and the office 100' away. They are working on trying to upgrade the Wi-Fi. I couldn't get satellite on my roof dish and there did not appear to be many sites that would be satellite friendly. As with many KOAs, there are also about 20 tent sites and/or cabins. The park is probably fine for a short, quiet getaway spot for locals but lacks the amenities many of us want.

We stayed here because I couldn't see a better opportunity to stay so close to the beach with full hookups. I pretty much agree with the previous reviews. The facilities are adequate but there is a noticable lack of maintenance and staff to help with any problems/questions. Being able to walk to the beach in less than a minute outweighs these negatives.

I pretty much agree with what most other reviewers have said - nice park, good facilities and sites, walking distance to town, etc - except for the traffic noise complaints. Being an true urban dweller, I just don't notice it. Very good for overnight and probably good for a few days to see the local sights.

This was our first time here in three years. The park was recently purchased by a thirty - something couple with kids. Thus far they have kept the park up to previous standards. They mentioned that it has been a lot harder work than they expected. As of now, it is still one of the best full service (full hook ups, cable, WI-FI, and a pool) parks in eastern MT. Big rigs may have to unhook but most of their pull-thrus are adequate. A few trees give shade to some sites and the rest of the vegetation is typical of the area - dried out grass in the summer and small shrubs.

We have not much to add to positive comments of recent reviews. We have stayed here before and have always found it to be a great place to relax and do some stocking up at the nearby stores. Everything you need in an RV park is available and the anything else you need is within a mile.

As the previous reviewer noted, there are really 2 parks here: What remains of the KOA and the area that is being turned into a high end RV resort. I was here last year and it appears that the only reason the KOA part is still here is the downturn in the economy. According to the workcampers with whom I spoke, the KOA part will be gone once they sell enough of the resort lots. Being a Class C, we stayed in the KOA part. It is still well run with good sites and facilities. I and a number of guests I spoke to will be sorry to see the KOA disappear to make way for "progress" for the well-heeled.

This may be the best RV park facility bordering a national park I have seen. There seem to be more RV sites than the 87 listed above. There are full hook-ups in two areas. First, 3 rows of 38 pull-through sites behind the office that are gravel, reasonably wide, and long enough to handle big rigs and, in some cases, without unhooking. Another section of about 30 full hook-ups is to the left of the office as you enter. This section has both pull-through and back-in sites. There are an additional 20+ water & electric RV sites. These appear to be rather hap-haphazardly arranged to the right of the entrance as you approach the office. The park also has several dozen cabins and about fifty tent sites (in a separate area). As mentioned by previous reviewers, there is a "cafe" that serves food. The real standout feature is the new pool. It is the largest outdoor pool I have seen a an RV park this far north in the contiguous U.S. The pool area is fenced in, has a large deck with plenty of tables and chairs, a sprinkler/fountain/water bucket area for the kids, and its' own bathhouse. The WIFI wasn't perfect, but worked enough for us. There is no cable (no cable service in this area) TV, but the RV sites are satellite friendly. For those who are up to it, the Glacier visitor center is within walking distance - about a mile and a half. There you can hop on a free NP shuttle and tour the park. We did this all three days we were here.

This is another park we haven't visited in a number of years. It was a lot worse than I remembered. Although there appear to be more than the 30 sites listed above, most sites are occupied by extended stay customers - lots of boats, pick ups, and older RVs. We checked in at the casino hotel, drove the quarter mile to the park, and found our assigned site occupied by a fifth wheel that had obviously been there a while. Many of the sites are double pull-thrus but the sewers are placed so that only the lead RV can hook up easily. The second RV must have extra long hoses to reach the sewer. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry were filthy. Even at only $13 a night, it is not worth it. It certainly appears that the only maintenance that is ever done is if the aged utilities are not working. Only good for fishermen and casino customers who can overlook the really pathetic conditions of the park. Lest you think this is a losing gamblers revenge, my better half won over $300 during our <20 hour stay. OK, I lost $10.

We stayed here the last weekend of July and the park was fairly full - tenters, bikers, travelers, extended stay, and seasonals. Full hook-up sites are adequate - a bit narrow and not quite long enough for leaving your tow attached. Cable had over 60 channels and the WI-FI worked fine for us. I had expected more problems due to the crowded conditions. Young staffers were not good for much other than to check you in and sell the store merchandise. I reported that there was a dog in the fenced in pool area and rather than do something (the pool is 30' from the office), all they did was ask if the dog was in the water. There is nothing within walking distance of the park. All in all, the park is a decent full service park. All facilities were above average and the quality b-ball court made it a 7 for me instead of just a 6.

While we enjoyed our stay at this park, we had two problems which kept it from rating higher. When we called ahead to reserve a FHU we asked for a roof satellite friendy site. We were told "no problem" and were told that the Wi-Fi reached the sites. First, we were unable to get satellite reception due to the large trees and I saw only one of the 25 FHU sites which appeared to be satellite friendly. Second, we could not get Wi-Fi at the site, but could on the deck in front of the office. Due to intermittent sprinkles, we could not take advantage of that location until late in the evening: about 8PM. It is a nice park that did not deliver the services we expected.

This is a nice KOA with good utilities and adequate sites for most RVs. Previous reviews have mentioned some other positives. The new pool is a bit on the small side and there is no cable but most sites are satellite friendly. Gravel roads and sites cause some dust in dry spells but I did see the staff hosing down some of the roadways. There is also interstate traffic noise which may bother some folks. The free WIFI worked well for us at the site.

This is a small KOA with only a handful of sites that have all utilities (WSE and cable). The cable selection is only 24 channels and very few sites were satellite friendly. I found the sewer placement at my site a bit inconvenient. I agree that the flowers and landscaping are attractive, but better facilities are more important than being pretty.

While I agree that this park's location offers great views and excellent access to downtown Duluth (about 1 mile one way over the bridge), the park itself has many serious flaws. I found the bathrooms to be very old and dirty. Maneuvering in and out of sites when the park is full is VERY difficult. According to the staff, the dozen or so sites that have sewers are usually booked well in advance for weeks/months at a time. If you don't have large holding tanks it is difficult to stay more than one day. Unfortunately, I did not look for the dump until after the office closed and the dump location shown on the map taped to the door appeared to be cemented over. So, I don't think there is a sewer dump in the park. If not for the location, this park would be rate a 3 at best.

This park has a full hook-ups and is well run and maintained. The WI-FI worked well for us on site. Like other parks in the immediate area, it does not have cable but most sites are satellite friendly. If you want cable, you need to stay farther west in Columbia Falls. This park is probably the best bet in the west Glacier area for big rigs - fairly long pull-thrus and not many trees. The closest restaurants are about a mile away and you have to go to Colubia Falls for any real selection of eateries or groceries.

Adequate park for overnight but offers only a dozen FHU sites and little else. I found the bath house and laundry building dated and not terribly clean. There are a number of long term residents and the site layout would be best described "helter-skelter" with the exception of the row of full hook-up back-ins. OK for overnight as you cross northern ND on US 2.

This is our first time here in 3 years and this continues to be the best park in the area that has what we are looking for: Full hook ups, cable, WIFI, and a pool. As previously noted not all sites are big rig friendly and the gravel roads can cause a lot of dust in dry times. Although the customers seemed to be quite good about driving slowly to keep the dust down and the kids safe, some of the work campers did not do so as they whipped around in their golf carts performing their duties. The worst offender (a 60+ fellow from WY) also broke another rule - no running of generators. He had a large generator on the back of his pick-up truck with a "For Sale" sign on it. His site was across the road from mine and, as I tried to read and relax outside in the middle of the day on the Saturday of our stay, he started the generator 3 times in a 2 hour period and ran it for as long as 35 minutes one of those times. During that running, he and another yellow shirted work camper fiddled with the generator. Knowing that the owners were at their other KOA in Indiana, who was I going to complain to - one of the offending work campers wives in the office? I will be sending an e-mail to the owner about this incident. Nice park, but inconsiderate work campers who believe the rules are only for customers.

This is a reasonably priced, FHU park with decent cable and WI-FI that worked fine for us. I can understand some of the previous complaints (poor site assignment, to much watering, lack of restrooms, lack of staff for the RV park, etc.). However, it works fine for just an overnight stop. I'd probably stay at one of the other parks in the area if spending more than 1 night.

I DID NOT STAY AT THIS PARK. I stayed here 3 years ago (see my 08/06 review) and decided to try this park again. Upon arrival we saw that all the electric only sites in the casino parking lot were taken and so we checked out the newer, full hookup sites in the RV park. We saw a few that were empty and went back to check with the hotel registration desk. We were told that all sites were booked. It appears that most of the 50+ sites are either seasonal or extended stay, booked well in advance. I would suggest calling for reservations during the summer. They do not appear to have many sites available for over-nighters or walk-ins. During our walk through the park, I saw a lot of sites that did not have sewers and few sites that would be satellite friendly.

This park is adequate as long as you get one of the pull-thru, full hook-ups with cable. It has little to offer other than a place to spend the night while traveling on US 2 across northern MT. The bath/laundry facility was small, dated, and a bit dirty. Next time I'll try one of the parks in Havre or Glasgow.

This is an interesting park. Most customers are here for the boating, fishing, and family getaways. Unlike most casino parks, the casino is not the main reason people camp here. The sites themselves are quite nice - fairly wide back-ins with many having vegetation (bushes and/or trees between sites). As a result many sites are not satellite friendly and the cable is barely adequate - about 20 channels. The 2 bathroom/laundry buildings are inadequate for this size park. Additionally, the bathrooms were dirty and smelly and half the laundry machines were out of order. I was unable to find any WI-FI signal. With a little upgrading and maintenance, this could be a very good park. They already have a great site layout which is why many parks get low ratings - sites too small, too close together, no privacy.

I agree pretty much with the previous reviews from May 2009. This small park has FHU, cable, and Wi-Fi at the sites. It was not full when we were there, so the Wi-Fi situation may be different if the park is crowded. Also if full, the park would probably be quite cramped as the sites are not exceptionally large. Except for the aforementioned fishing activities and hot tub, there isn't much to do in the park and there is nowhere to walk since the road (US 101) has no shoulders.

As usual, we stayed here on the first and last night of our annual May trip. This continues to be an excellent overnight park with very good hook-ups, cable, and Wi-Fi. The owners are as accommodating and friendly as any I have encountered in my years of traveling by RV. The facilities are only a "7", but they make it a "9".

It has been 2 years since we last stayed here but had to do so unexpectedly due to an unplanned trip to Camping World over in Hammond. Park was suddenly getting some pretty lousy reviews, I was also curious to see if it had gone downhill. Recent reviews spoke of numerous potholes, "migrant workers", tiny sites, etc. While I did see indications of some of these "problems", they did not have a negative effect on my stay. Maybe they filled some of the potholes in the past month and there are now fewer "migrant" campers now. The park still has good facilities (full hook-ups, very good cable, at site, free WI-Fi, and a nice pool). They are also continuing to upgrade some sites with cement pads and new utilities. So, in spite of recent poor reviews, I think this is still a above average park for overnight or longer stays.

I stayed here last October (see 10/08 review)and, after assurances from the RV park manager via several e-mails over their winter that the golf cart problems were under control, came here again for 5 days in mid-May. During my stay which included a crowded weekend, it appears that park management has let customers with golf cart owners know that infractions such as speeding and child drivers will no longer be tolerated. If only getting them to replace the aging utility hook-ups and unlevel pad could be so easy. Unlike those 2 problems, they could, at some cost, upgrade their cable system to a lot more than 15 channels. The Wi-Fi isn't perfect but did work well enough for us. This park is back up to an "8" for me, but still needs to make the above mentioned improvements to get the "10" some others give them. Rate shown is based on being "comped" for all 5 nights.

Rate reflects comps and PPA used during 2 stays totaling 10 days in May. I have a number of previous reviews on this park - see my 10/08 and 5/07 reviews, for example). Among other days, we stayed here Memorial Day weekend. Once again, the weekenders were out of control with only minimal attempts by management to stop disruptive and sometimes dangerous behavior. (You may ask why I keep returning - well, when I'm 900 miles from home on a holiday weekend, I want to stay someplace with nice facilities.) Once again, great park and good facilities to be avoided on weekends - especially holidays.

We stayed here 4 days in early May and 4 days in late May on "free stay" coupons based on previous visits/gambling. My opinion concerning this park remain basically the same as my last review (10/08). Since then they a have added a good Wi-Fi system. A recent reviewer mentioned one thing I have always meant to mention - this park is much to bright at night. I put foil between the bedroom windows and the shades to add a bit of an extra darkening effect for sleeping.

This is our second time here - the first was last October - see 10/08 review. Good overnight stop lacking any in-park recreational facilities (pool, playground, etc.) For that I'd go 30 miles north on I-57 to Cape Camping in Cape Girardeau.

This is the same park as is listed next (Diamond Jack's). It went from Isle of Capri to Diamond Jack's to Ameristar in the past 2 years. Because of the good reviews for this park we went a little off our usual May trip route to stay here. As noted by others, the park has decent pull-thru sites with good hook-ups, very good cable, and free WIFI (which we were able to get at our site not too far from the office. The park was almost full on a Friday night in late May - about half the sites are permanent or extended stay so they only have about 40 sites available on a regular basis. Locals come for weekend getaways. I would suggest calling ahead for weekend reservations in season (MD to LD). We did not encounter any problems created by the large number of long term campers and don't care if some of them were "older" RVs. I would definitely stay here rather than one of the parks in Sikeston in warm weather because they have a nice pool.

The rate reflects being comped for our 5 day stay. I have been here several dozen times over the past 10+ years and and have always considered this a good but could (and should) be better park. My main criticisms in the past have always been unlevel sites, poorly placed (toward the front) sewers, and utilities (leaky spigots, cable or Wi-FiI) that didn't work (these were usually fixed within an hour or two), when I initially set up, limited number of cable channels (15), etc. The park's newest "amenity" is that they now allow golf carts. Long story short, the park does not enforce their own rules (drivers must be licensed, not driving after dark, and the speed limit). I saw all 3 rules broken by one cart full of kids my first evening and 2 incidents of the same 11 year old driver and cart the next day. I reported all 3 incidents and by the third could even tell them which site the kids were in. Nothing was done; security told me they had to catch the kids driving the carts. What???? This is a safety issue not just me being an old meany. I have yet to receive a reply to the resort comment card I submitted 6 weeks ago. The park needs to control the rule breakers for the safety of the kids and the rest of their customers.

Rate reflects comps and PassPort America for 17 days over two stays during October. I am a longtime and frequent visitor to this park and agree with most of the positive comments by previous reviewers. While it does have some minor flaws and/or shortcomings (some sites flood, pay WIFI, limited lodge hours during the week, etc.), my major problem is with management's tendency to let people (who flaunt the rules) stay and/or keep coming back. Coushatta (over in Kinder, LA) has the same problem. They make little effort to control those who do not know how to behave for fear of losing customers. For me, it is a big negative for an otherwise very good RV park.

I must agree with the last 3 reviews: disgusting bathroom, laundry and shower building (needs to be replaced), mostly a mobile home/long-term park, sites are actually very good (Full hookup, fairly spacious, good cable, level combination gravel/concrete pads), and it is it a nicely treed setting. We had reserved 2 days earlier, got there in the early afternoon, and there was no one in the office or any signs or notes posted telling us what to do. We started to set up when a woman arrived, said the site we took was OK, took our money, and that was it. There was no map, instructions, or information of any kind. Pool (a lovely shade of pond scum green) was closed - supposedly due to recent storms. We did not try the WI-FI since we were told it was weak and spotty. I would advise anyone planning to stop here to call ahead, get a site number, asked what to do when you arrive, and hope for the best. This park has nice sites in a nice setting but everything else you might want in an RV park is lacking. (866) 704-5222

Surprisingly, I haven't reviewed this park since 10/06 even though I have stayed here 8 times since then. This October trip I stayed 5 days at the beginning of September and 4 days at the end of October. 8 of the days were on "freebie" coupons. That said, this is another highly rated park I cannot see being more than a "8". Some would consider the bathroom facilities small for a park this size, and the cable TV is limited to about 15 channels. Others would complain that it is a parking lot with hookups. Previous reviewers have noted, there is no Wi-Fi in the park but can be had in the casino hotel. I was, however, able to get it on site during my end of October stay. I did not check to see if it was from the park or another source. Most sites are back-ins but easy enough to get into.

This was our first time here even though we have come through this area dozens of times over the years. This year we decided to take an extra day heading home from Tunica, MS and check this park out because of the positive reviews on this site. I pretty much agree with the positive comments by previous reviewers. Nice sites with very good facilities (FHU, cable, and WIFI). You may want to specify your desire for WIFI - they put us closer to the office because we asked for WIFI. Overall, a very good overnight park.

Sorry folks, I still can't see this park being more than an "8". I've been stopping here 2-4 times times a year for over 10 years. Because it has 60 channel cable, a pool, and now on site WI-FI, it meets my needs. I'm in the camp of those who think many of the sites are not level and have crumbling cement pads. Also, some of the utility hook-ups are poorly located (at far rear of the site), old, and in need of repair or replacement. I'd prefer to see money spent repairing or improving the sites rather than flowers or bushes. Many would consider the laundry (2 of each machine) and bathrooms (2 showers each) too small for this size park. At least they cut back on their initial price hike to $30 when they took over last year. A nice, adequate, but flawed park.

We stayed her for 2 nights at the end of our 10 week trip. Rate is PPA. The park has full hook-ups, 70 channel cable, WIFI, and shares a pool with a motel. Unfortunately it was a tad too cool to use the pool - the water felt warm enough but the air temp was only around 70F. The sites are a mix - pull-thrus, back-ins, gravel pads, some cement pads. Sites are well laid out and there seem to be numerous sites that will handle big rigs. A number of site have some shade from mature trees. Just off I-90 which will bother some folks. Super WalMart and Cabellas are a 10-15 minute walk but you will need a vehicle to get to downtown Mitchell.

Nice full service (FHU, 60+ channel cable, WIFI, and a pool. As at our last stop, it was too cool to use the pool. Park is well laid out with a lot of pull-thrus and some back-ins. New owners are in the process of expanding the Cable system to more sites - it is currently about 50% coverage. It looks like the kind of place that might be a bit hectic and noisy in the summer if there are a lot of families camping. Not much nearby - you'll probably have to hop on I-29 and go a stop or 2 south into Souix City, IA for decent shopping or places to eat. Still, I can see staying here a couple days next time we're in the area.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I noticed several problems with this "park". The 6 sites are on pavement with a raised, 2' wide, 20' long cement island between them. The island contains the sewer, electric, water, and cable hook-ups. The distance between the islands is only about 12 feet so there is probably no room for slides much less an awning. The first site is only about 20' from the Burger King drive-thru window. We were in the second site (the first site was vacant) and could not get the WI-FI. We could see and hear every drive-thru customer until BK closed at 11PM. Additionally, there were customers driving through (and sometimes parking in) the empty first RV site. Besides being annoying, this situation was potentially dangerous. You had to watch for traffic as you exited your RV. I can't imagine being in the first site. There were also semi trucks parking behind the building with their engines running. They are close enough to the RV sites to be a problem. There are no separate RV bathrooms and NO showers at all. Understandably, the area is well lit all night and thus not conducive to sleeping. As for customer service (which seems to be important to many folks), there is none. The gas station convenience store clerk takes your fee. That's it. This may seem to be a bit overdone for a 6 site "park", but I wanted to let folks know what to expect if they come here.

Big, busy park with Full Hook Up, limited cable (only 20 channels), and Wi-Fi. Others have described the sites. I'd say they are adequate. One of the livelier parks we stayed in on this trip - lots of families and the beach area got a lot of use. There isn't much within walking distance and you probably need a vehicle to get to downtown Coeur d' Alene.

Nice modern park with Full Hook Up, 60+ cable, lodge only Wi-Fi (which limits usage to the lodge hours), and an indoor pool. Within walking distance of Super Wal-mart and a few places to eat. There is a large construction project (some sort of medical facility) being built between the park and the Wal-mart. This may still be going on next year (2009). We stayed two days and the park would be good for any length stay.

I agree with the previous (07/08) review that this park is improving. Cable is 60 channels and WIFI worked for us. Sites are barely adequate but it would take a lot of money and effort to upgrade them to a level acceptable to most of today's RVers. It was an acceptable stop for us between Glacier and northern ID.

We stayed here twice on this trip - 2 days in late July and 3 days in late August. For us, it's proximity to shopping (Super Wal-mart, Best Buy, Albertsons) and numerous restaurants (sit down and fast food) makes this a good park for a multi-day stay. This is a fairly large park with a mix of seasonals, overnighters, tenters, RVs, tenters, and motorcyclists. During the summer, this is not a park for those who want a quite park.

Since we were going to be around Flathead Lake for at least a week, we decided to try several parks. As noted, the park is being converted. Too bad, it is a decent park with good facilities, and without it the park I prefer (Eagle's Nest) will be harder to get into. One reason I stayed here was that it seemed to be a little closer to downtown Polson. It was maybe a mile and a half (vs. 2 from Eagle's Nest). Also, a previous reviewer ranted about the park's advertising being deceitful because the park was (according to the reviewer) "miles" from the lake. Actually, from the park to US 93 is about 500 yards - where the only thing between you and the lake are some lakeside homes. So, the lake is less than a mile from the park. If you need to misrepresent the facts to support your negative opinion, your opinion loses all credence. Oh well, another decent park lost to progress(?).

This was our first visit here in 2 years, and found that not much has changed. The park has full hook-ups, 60+ cable, WIFI and a pool. As previously mentioned the sites are very small and close together. Definitely not a park for big rigs or people who want a roomy site. We stayed over the Labor Day weekend and were somewhat surprised that it was nowhere near full. As a result, we asked if we could get any additional discount for extending our stay a day. The answer was a curt "N0!". I don't understand their rationale. We've already paid $105 for 3 nights, it is the end of the summer vacation season, and the park will be 80% empty Monday night (just about everyone around us left before us on Monday morning). By dropping the price by $10 for our 4th night, the could have made at least $20 in profit. I must be missing something in their logic.

Others have already written about the convenient location of the park for seeing the sights of Cody. A pool would be a nice addition in this heavily used, touristy park. The park has FHU, 60+ channel cable, WIFI. The new section of the park has 2 rows of about 30 pull-thrus in an open area. These sites were full during our stay due to a RV rally. We were lucky to get an acceptable site in the old section. As noted in some prior reviews, the old sites vary greatly in quality. Many are small, close together, have awkward utility placement, unlevel, etc. If you don't mind being in the open (sun, wind, etc.), try to get a site in the new sectio (sites 109-137). Most of the older sites are back-ins some of the the above mentioned problems.

Loved the "geezer/golfer" comment by a previous reviewer. I certainly understand why he/she wrote that. We stayed for 2 days and most of the occupied sites were one or both of those. Many of them appeared to be seasonals or at least extended stays. There were some younger people and some kids (possibly with their grandparents?). So, it wasn't just us oldies. The park itself has FHU, good cable, WIFI, and a pool (a rarity in this area). Sites are more than adequate but big rigs will probably have to unhook. The park is very neat and well kept. Walmart (not a Super) and Albertsons are a 10-15 minute walk, and center of town about 2 miles.

We had two seperate 2 day stays here in early August. This is a nice small park with good facilities except for the lack of WIFI. I did use the next door town library a couple times, but it is only open 10-4, M-S. Not convenient for today's RVer. Sites are adequate size but all are in the open (no trees). Not much to the town, but the lake views are beautiful where you can get access to the lake. The motel/RV park has a small pier across the street prom the park.

This is another park that we stayed at twice on this trip - for 2 days in early August and another 2 days about a week later. The staff is good, the sites are OK (our first was short and the second was long but not level), they have 60 channel cable (none of the parks closer to Glacier NP have cable), and the WIFI worked fine for us. As previously noted, there are pay showers. Not much in town, but there a a few restaurants/fast food places and a big grocery two miles to the east.

Since we would be spending 2 nights in West Yellowstone, we decided to give this park a try. Our most recent stops in town have been just overnighters and we were satisfied with Pony Express. This is a more spacious(long, but narrow sites) and attractive (lots of evergreen trees between the sites) park. Although its' cable selection includes some premium channels, it is only 40 channels and lacks some our preferred selections. We were told that WIFI was not available in the park but you could get it at a coffee shop 1/2 block away. We may try Rustic Wagon next time.

Adequate park for an overnight stay with Full Hook Up and cable. As others have noted, the park is not attractive, has no amenities, is basically RV sites built in an open spot next to an RV shop. Some sites seemed to be occupied by seasonals or local workers. It is within walking distance of places to eat and a large grocery store. Yes, the trains are fairly constant and loud, but that doesn't really bother us.

Park is in a very nice setting with grass, tress, and an attractive fishing pond (not the usual swampy mud hole you often find passing for a pond). Facilities are very good except for the pay WIFI. I would have given this park a solid "8" if not for the owners. The wife was OK, but the husband was, at best, gruff and grumpy. The real problem was their 30 year old son. In addition to being rather robotic during check-in, he was completely unprofessional in my other visits to the office. Among other things, he was spouting off about his late nights out, the beating he gave some guy, his guns and tatoos, and so on as he sat at the check-in counter. Not exactly the kind of image I would think a park wants to portray to their customers. It would be bad enough if he was a fellow camper, but this is one of the owners! A nice park that won't see me again unless it changes ownership.

Spent 3 days here and generally agree with most of the other reviews (both here and the park's listing under Cortez). The park has good facilities (FHU, cable, and WI-FI). Personally, I did not find the indoor pool very appealing - too many chemicals. And yes, leveling can be an issue.

This was our second year in a row staying for a long weekend to visit my nephew stationed at Ft. Carson. Surprisingly, this large full service park was only about half full on a weekend in the middle of the tourist season - possibly due to gas prices, and the fact that there are several RV parks closer to the Colorado Springs attractions. I think the facilities here are superior to those other parks and very good except for the fact that the pool is undersized for this size park. Every time I checked the pool during our stay there were 5-10 people (mostly kids) in the water. In a small pool, that's crowded.

The park is right on the San Juan River just east of town. It has FHU, cable, and WI-FI but the pool is above ground surrounded by a deck. Pool looked nice but incoming storms prevented us from using it. We got heavy rain for about an hour but the park did not turn into the muddy mess previously described. There are quite a few seasonal sites, but the overnight sites are adequate. Don't expect cement pads or patios with well manicured lawns, flower gardens, etc. There is also a small paddle boat pond on site.

Good full service park with FHU, 60+ channel cable, WI-FI, and a pool. The full name is Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA which tells experienced RVers that it is south of Pueblo in Colorado City. Unless you need to be near Pueblo for more than a day, it is only good for overnight stop or a few days to relax. As a base for sightseeing, it is too far from the sights to be used as a base camp. Tourist destinations such as Royal Gorge and Colorado Springs have parks much closer.

We have stayed here each of the last trhee years and this time in late July and late August. Very good facilities (FHU, 60+ cable, WIFI, and good sized pool) and its' proximity to town (20 minute walk to center of town) make this our preference over the KOA and Deer Park. The large cottonwood trees give some shade during the day and yes, for a short period it May/June they do "snow" as a previous reviewer noted. Just another case of an RVer who downgrades a park because they cannot handle Mother Nature if it gets them or their rig dirty.

This is our first time back here in 2 years. Facilities (FHU, cable, WIFI, and pool) are still above average. They have and are still adding sites to the interior area which used to contain only the bath/laundry bldg, pool, and pavillion. This has its pros and cons. For me, it takes away the former openness of the center of the park. Still a great deal at the PPA rate.

Nice, well run full service (FHU, 60+ channel cable, WIFI, and pool) park. Most of the RV sites in a new, open (no trees) area. There are 3, 10 site rows of level, gravel pull-thrus with new hookups. We had some problems with their WIFI - they evidently have a recurring problem with their password and have to give you a different one if their main password isn't working. Very good park for an overnight stop.

As others have noted, if the wind is from the wrong direction (NE, I think), a very foul stench engulfs this park. For our overnight stay, everything was fine until the breeze started about 6 PM. The air was still foul when we went to bed, but was gone in the morning. The park itself has very good facilities (FHU, cable, WIFI, and a pool). It is too bad a stay at this otherwise nice park is often ruined by this unpredictable and unpreventable problem.

This was our first stop here in two years and the owners have continued to upgrade the park. Most sites now have cement pads and they are slowly adding new sites. Unfortunately their restuarant was not open during our weekend stay due to staffing problems. They are getting a little pricey but I can see the money and effort going into park improvements. As I said last time, the town has enough of interest for a two night stop.

Good full service (FHU, pool, free cable and WI-FI) RV park. Good for overnight but big rigs may have to unhook. Sites are decent size with some having shade trees.

This is our second year in a row staying here heading west after YNP. Again, it met our needs. It will probably not meet your needs especially if your unit is large (over 32' or towing) or you want a "nice" park to be in.

Everybody has already pretty much described all the positives about this park: the facilities, the newness, the owners, etc. The only problem we had during our 2 day stay was the WIFI. It went down for a couple hours and had to be rebooted by the owner and was not reliable during our stay. The only fault I found with the park was the location of the sewer toward the front of the sites. People towing 5th wheels and trailers may have to use extra sewer hose if they do not plan on unhooking. Surprisingly, they are not doing the business they expected. The owner said they have already had 300 cancellation this year. I'd hate to see a new park of this quality not make it.

We stayed here twice on this trip - one overnight stay at the end of July and a 2 night stay late in August. The park offers what we want (FHU, 60 channel cable, WIFI, and a pool) in a park. There are a variety of camping sites but only about 15 FHU, pull-thrus. The staff was friendly and the park well kept. It is only a 10 minute walk to town which has a museum and small collection of pioneer buildings plus adequate shopping and places to eat.

Previous reviewers are correct in saying that this is a nice park but I think their perspectives (tent trailer and camping cabin) made them a little too easy in giving it 10s. The park has very good facilities (FHU, cable, WI-FI, and a pool). The park layout conforms to the natural setting - hilly terrain, trees, dirt, curvy roads. This could be a problem for big rigs and those who want cement pads and no intrusions by mother nature. The hilltop location affords some nice views of Durango and the surrounding mountains.

Very good overnight park. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Excellent facilities except for limited cable channels. We need more convenient, reasonably priced, full service, overnight parks like this. Unfortunately, the current economic situation is hurting their business - hope they make it..

We stayed here for the umpteenth time at the beginning and end of our annual spring trip south. This continues to be a great overnight park. I just want to remind folks reading these positive reviews that you are not going to get paved roads and cement pads here, and the forest setting means little grass and will limit your satellite reception. For the first time we did have a negative experience here. We arrived on Saturday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend and were given our usual site. Unfortunately, we were downwind of a neighboring site with a smoky fire already going at 2PM on a beautiful 75 degree day. We had to close all our windows and vents and were unable to eat outside as planned. There were many periods during the rest of the day when the fire was unattended. The fire was still spewing smoke past 10PM.

This park's facilities (full hook up, cable, and Wi-Fi)are as good as any park between St. Louis and Memphis on I-55. It is also newer and cheaper than most full service parks. I just hope the new casino owners don't hike the rates.

I wasn't going to re-review this park on this second visit of the year, but I do want to comment on two things. I upgraded my rating back to an 8 since they appear to have corrected the WIFI problem and we were able to get it 4 of the 5 days there at our site (last visit was 0 for 5). Additionally, there is a review for November (posted before this one) that states that there is nothing here for kids. Since there is a nice playground, excellent pool, basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball, etc., maybe the reviewer meant "no organized activities for kids." Plus the park roads are condusive to bike riding.

After staying here 3-4 times a year for 10-14 night a year for 10+ years, this was our only stopover this year. Since being taken over by Harrah's, the nightly rate has gone up about $10 and they want $11/day for their WIFI service. Although this is still has the nicest RV park in the area, it has become too expensive compared to the other casino RV parks.

Park is new, clean, well laid out with roomy, open sites and modern facilities (FHU, cable, and WIFI). Even if you are not interested in the casino, it is worth the 10+ miles round trip off I-55 because of the cheap nightly rate.

This is my fourth stay here since my first review of this park 10/06 when I gave it a 6. I don't see any indication of Ameristar putting money into the park. They now have WIFI but there has been no upgrading of the aging utilities and the cement pads are still unlevel and deteriorating. The rate has almost doubled in 1 year with the only noticable improvement being the addition of WIFI. Thus, I dropped my rating one point. Still a good overnight stop with good cable and now WIFI - just more expensive than it was.

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our 2 month trip northwest. Because it had everything, full hook-ups, excellent cable, WIFI, a pool, and within walking distance to town, we require for a multi-day stay, we reserved it for Labor Day weekend. As expected, the park was packed with families getting away for the final summer weekend, so we were never able to comfortably use the pool. In spite of that and a few too many campfires in hot weather, it was an enjoyable stay for an older couple in a park filled with families on a busy weekend. Being about 30 minutes east of I-35 and the same distance north of I-90, this is not a convenient park for travelers on the interstates looking for an overnight stop.

Modern park with good facilities (FHU, cable, WIFI) and decent sites. Probably too close to the highway for those of you who cannot handle traffic noise. Less than half full during our after Labor Day stay, but I can't see it being crowded with anything but Mayo related customers and overnighters. There is no pool or anything for kids and the road it is on has lots of small business operations but nothing (food, shopping, gas) for travelers. Good only for overnight unless you need/want to be in the Rochester area for more than a day.

I have stayed here numerous times over the years and always found always found this park to have excellent overnight facilities (FHU, good cable and WIFI, and a nice pool). On this last stay I found out that the new owners charge "drive-ins" an extra $2 a night. If you don't reserve at least one day ahead, you are charged $2 more. This is not disclosed in the KOA directory or the campground website. I complained to both the owner in person and KOA by phone but got no satisfaction. I feel that this hidden charge is a sleazy business practice.

We stayed here for 2 days during the week after Labor Day. Thus we paid the lower "off season" rate for a FHU with cable pull-thru site in the roomier upper section of the park and our experience in a 1/3 full park was much better than that of summertime visitors. I found the facilities to be above average, but I can see how a packed park in the summer would cause a reviewer to downgrade this park especially if they were unable to get one of the better sites like we did. I certainly did not find the facilities to be "decrepit" as one anti-KOA reviewer did. Finally, good park with good facilities to be avoided in season if you can't handle crowds and kids. '

I agree with most of the previous reviewers' comment, but want to add a couple things. First, being next to a race track, and the fair grounds, there are numerous special events that pack the RV park, raise the rates to $50 for FHU, and make the whole area very congested. Call ahead if you want to avoid these situations. Secondly, check the site you are given before you finish registering. Some utilities are oddly placed (ie, some sewers are on the wrong side), so you want to be certain your assigned site meets your needs. As already noted, this is the only, but decent, place to stay if you want to be near Milwaukee.

They still haven't gotten that exit directly off the new road from I-70. So you may still have to climb and descend the steep road from town. The new owners have raised the rates $10-15/day in less than 2 years. This makes staying here more than one night very expensive.

Very good full service park including a pool, hot tub, excellent cable, good WIFI, a nice restaurant on the premises (in season only I assume), and even a decent b-ball court. There is a Camping World a mile up the road. I wouldn't have bothered reviewing this park except that some of the previous reviewer's comments. In 3 days I did not notice I-25 noise or smell anything foul. The park is not 20 miles from Colorado Springs. It is one mile south of I-25 exit 132 and the six exits for Colorado Springs are 138 thru 143. We were able to make it to anywhere in the city in 10-15 minutes.

A park with very good faciliies - pull-thrus, FHU, cable, WIFI. While the other positive reviews are pretty much on target, I did have one little problem. It was a fairly hot (88) late August weekday when we arrived and I was looking forward to using the pool before some approaching storms arrived. After setting up I went over to the pool about 2 PM and found the gate locked. The wife/owner said she would have her husband unlock it. I went back to the RV, changed, and came back to the pool. Husband/owner was cleaning it and said it would be reading in about 2 hours - just about the time the rain was supposed to arrive. I never got to use the pool - the clouds moved in about 4 PM and it started raining shortly thereafter. It appeared that the owner was hoping that no one would want to use the pool that day. Still, a nice park but little thing like the pool being unavailable in the middle of the day can ruin the customer's stay.

Park actually seemed nicer than our last visit about 5 years ago. Except for visiting the Jackpot casinos, the only reason to be in the area is if you are travelling north or south on U.S. 93. For the price, this park's facilities are better than anything south on I80 or north in Twin Falls, ID. The casino/hotel pool is a five minute walk away and beautiful.

We were a bit concerned about staying at a very popular family park during the height of the vacation season. We were unable to get reservations for the weekend, but managed to get a full hookup with cable on Mon. and Tue. We got there by early afternoon and they were turning people away by 5 PM. The only thing a full park prevented was having a relaxing time at the pool. There is a hourly shuttle to town between approximately 9 AM and 7PM (in season). It is a relatively easy walk for those who are up to it. I can see larger rigs having some problems manuvering in the park and into the sites. Very good cable and decent WIFI from our site. It is a heavily wooded park so satellite reception could be a problem.

The park is in a beautiful setting and has large, spacious, paved RV sites with modern hookups. Like some others I had problems with the water pressure and the WIFI. Also, the cable is only 25 channels. The indoor pool is nice but small. I can certainly see why all the big rig RVers gush about this place. During our 2 day stay there were few families (read - kids) and less than 20% of the RVs were not big (read -Class A), 5th Wheels, and buses. For them it is like being at home in their gated communities with little contact with the lower socio-economic classes. Nobody came around and washed the windsheild of my Class C. Coincidence?

We had stayed here 5 years ago and enjoyed the park but, decided to try the park in town. Unfortunately it was full, so we ended up here. One reason that park in was full, and this one was only about 20% occupied, is the $45 rate. After some inquiries about the $10+ rate jump from last year, I found out about the park's expansion (it is actually almost a brand new facility next door). So I am paying $10 more for 2007's $30 facility to fund the new park which I may never use. What would have been at least a 2-3 day stay, ended after one night. The current park is OK - nice pool, free WIFI near offfice, decent cable TV and sites. If not for the $10 rip-off, it would have rated a 7.

Probably the least favorite of the 6 parks we stayed at on the Oregon coast portion of our trip. It did, however, meet our needs/wants for the night - FHU, decent cable (35 ch.), and WIFI. Laundry was expensive. I can live with cramped and crowded for a night but I think big RV with or without toads would have problems both in the park and getting into sites when this park is crowded.

I initially was not going to review this park because I basically agreed with most of the positive comments. It has nice sites and very good facilities. What caught my eye was all the negative comments about the area around the park - "thug haven, bad side of town, industrial area, not a great neighborhood." I took an hour plus walk up and down the the main street and saw nothing but shops, small businesses, fast food places, etc. and one large modern 4 story office bldg. I was still befuddled by other reviewers' negative comments until I realized that the only other pedestrians I saw on my walk were Latinos. Sad to think that was the basis for those negative comments.

As a retired couple we did not find this to be the over-crowded, kids gone wild KOA others have described. The park was full and kids were being kids, but we have seen a lot worse. We were able to get quality pool time both days we were there and enjoyed walking to and from town. There is a scheduled shuttle for those of you not up to walking 4-5 miles round trip. Not for those seeking peace and quiet during the summer.

Riverfront setting is impressive but the park is only average. Some sites are side-by-side and thus close together. Cable was OK, but the WIFI was too expensive. Good overnight stop along I-80. Full hook-ups, decent sites, good cable, WIFI, and a small pool. Although a little rain storm about an hour after our arrival prevented use of the pool, I am not one of those folks who blame the RV park for the weather.

Very good new park. I agree with most of the praise but had a few problems. Like many parks this size, the pool is too small. I have seen reviews where the reviewer complains about "pea sized" gravel. Here the gravel is new and walnut size. Because the sites are, with the exception of the patio, covered by this gravel, walking the 15-20 feet from the patio to the road is treacherous. The gravel has not settled and appears to be several inches deep. With every step, you slip and/or sink like walking in sand but without a flat surface beneath your feet. Because the sites are long and wide, the sewer connection is at the entrance of the sites creates a problem. To line up your rig with the patio and other utilities you may need extra sewer hose. Of the 50 or so sites that were occupied when I was there, most were using at least a fully extended 20 foot hose and 15-20 were using a second 20 footer. Any park where that many rigs need more than 20 feet of sewer hose has a serious design flaw.

Small, newer park with modern full hookups, good cable, and WIFI. The only other thing in the park is a small building containing the tiny office, a laundry, and the restrooms. There is nothing else in the park. The sites are level pads and spacious, but there are no recreational facilities for anyone, kids or adults. Casino is a bit of a walk, but there are shops and restaurants within 5-10 minutes. The center of north Lincoln City is about 2 miles.

Like most of the other reviewers, I found this to be a very good park. Others have commented on the facilities. Although I do not expect to have a pool on the Oregon coast, some sort of recreational facilities would have been nice - playground, v-ball net, horseshoes. Cable is only 25 channels and the WIFI, as mentioned, was not reliable. In nice weather and for those who can, walking across the bridge to town (about half an hour) is great.

It has been about 5 years since we have stayed here and it was good to see that this older park is still very good. Most sites are back-in with a maybe 20 back-to-backs and a few pull-thrus. They may be too close together for some folks and too short for some of tody's bigger RVs. Facilities include full hookups, 70 channel cable, and WIFI. Plenty of things are within walking distance: shops, stores, restaurants, and even an RV dealer within blocks and the center of town is less than a mile.

Not much to add to other reviews, except that they have a very nice pool right at the entrance. Of course that means you have to walk past the "trailer park" (a row of maybe a dozen permanent trailers along the entrance road) another review mentioned. You can walk to a few places just down the road, but getting into the main part of town will require driving.

We have stayed here several times in the past and enjoyed it. Since we were unable to get into a full service park on the Oregon coast for the weekend, we called ahead in mid-July and made a reservation here for the last weekend in July. Since we could not be on the cool coast during the late July heat wave, the pool at this park was the major factor in coming here. After checking in and setting up we found out that the pool was closed by the health dept. in June. I believe that we should have been advised of the pool closure at the time we made reservations. The park's are, otherwise, very good - FHU cement sites, excellent cable, and good WIFI.

I have been here several times in the past and spent a weekend here in mid-July. As expected the park was full both nights, but had an enjoyable stay in spite of the crowd - probably 400 customers in the park. Good facilities - full hook-ups, pool, cable a bit limited, and WIFI. Best park to use as a base for the Badlands if you are going to spend a couple days exploring the park.

Inspite of all the 10s this park has received, it does have a number of negatives. The cable is only 20 channels and some of those don't come in. The WIFI is $5 a day. There are 55 "premium" sites for which you pay $5-10 extra to get limited cable and cement strips (not a pad) for parking your rig. The entry and exit cement is significantly slanted so you lose about 20' of the site. There are only 7 70' pull-thru sites - the rest are 55' pull-thru or 35' back-ins. The otherwise nice bathrooms are a quarter for 3 minutes. As usual for a park this size the pool is too small.

It has been about 5 years since we last stayed here. Except for the addition of WIFI, the park is basically the same: nice back-in sites, some pull-thrus are side-by-side on asphalt, limited cable but only on some sites, very good pool, spacious grounds, and a variety of recreational facilities. Even without the casino, this park has enough to stay a couple days especially for families.

We stayed here twice last year, and it is still our preference of the the 3 main parks in the area. The facilities (FHU, pool, cable, and WIFI) are at least as good as Deer Park and the KOA. Here you can walk to some nearby shops and restaurants, and even to the historic downtown if you can handle a 3 mile round-trip. Numerous trees might cause some satellite problems and I-25 is close enough that some may complain about traffic noise.

OK overnight park. It delivers what it claims to have - full hook-ups, good cable, and WIFI. Did not pay the extra $5 to use the indoor pool. Walked over to neighboring park, R&R, to see if it was any better. It appeared to have bigger sites, some with cement pads, and many with shade trees. It shares an outdoor pool with a motel. I would probably stay at R&R next time in the area.

Attractive, newer park in a nice setting with full facilities, nice sites, FHU, good cable, and WIFI. New clubhouse and pool building is under construction. For us, walking access to stores, restaurants, and town is a big plus. That's why we chose it over the Hell's Canyon Resort at the west end of town. That made the higher rate here worth it - even for two days. The only thing really lacking is; in park recreational facilities.

While I understand the superlatives of several reviewers, I have to agree with the reviewer who had problems with the sites and hookups. My major complaint, and I did mention it to the staff, was the right to left slant on, seemingly, every site. If you do not have and expensive rig with push button levelers, you will need to raise your entire left side 3-4 inches to offset this design flaw. I do not carry enough boards for that kind of lift. I would have stayed several days if not for this problem.

While I agree with most of the positive comments on this park, it does have flaws. Two have already been mentioned: Mosquitoes - they need to do some heavy duty spraying. No shade - many of us will not be RVing 20 years from now when the trees might be big enough to shade an RV. My main complaint is the lack of a pool. This area is typically 90+ from early June through mid August and has already had numerous 100+ days this summer. I would have rather seen them initially build a pool than spend thousands on the "awesome" entrance landscaping and design. Comfort and fun beat pretty in my book. Also, the "across the street" Wal-mart is about a half mile walk because you can't walk straight from the park - you have to walk out the entrance and down the road about 500 yards.

Hey folks, there is a reason this place is almost $20 cheaper than all the other area parks. It met our needs (FHU, cable, and WIFI) perfectly for one night before heading west. As noted, it is small, unappealing, and larger RVs and/or those with toads probably should not even attempt to stay here.

I agree that this is a nice park with good facilities (FHU, cable, and WIFI) and sites. It is well maintained and I also saw the owner watering, mowing, etc. I guess I am just not as impressed by all this hard work by the owner in an age when water is become too precious a resource to be wasted on keeping campground grass green. If he is going to use thousands of gallons of water a day, I'd rather see it in a swimming pool. This area is consistently in the 90s and higher from mid June through mid August and a pool is much more refreshing than green grass.

I somehow forgot to review this park earlier this year when I was reviewing the 30+ parks I visited last year. I just stayed here for the umpteenth time over the years last week on my way home from my spring southern trip. As noted in other reviews, there are cement pads, W&E hookups, and showers but little else. No cable, no WIFI, no recreational area, and, the last time I asked, the hotel pool was not available to the RV guests. Unless you are for the casino, there is no reason to stay more than 1 night. $30 is a lot for just W&E and a cement pad. I only use it because it usually makes my trip through Chicago on Sunday morning hassle free.

Last May we stayed at the Lafayette KOA for their Free Friday Hot Deal and it was an overcrowded disaster. This year we decided to try this KOA for the Pay Friday, Free Saturday, Hot Deal. Upon check-in I mentioned the Lafayette fiasco last year and they assured me that they were not allowing 6-10 visitors per site. Although the park was fairly full, there was no overcrowding and the weekend was quite enjoyable. As noted in other reviews, the sites are adequate, many on pads, good cable and WIFI, nice pool, etc. Still a good overnight stop or fine for several days to see the area.

I reviewed this park last October and gave it an 8. They have a new park-wide WIFI system with which the desk personnel said they have been having problems. We were unable to get any signal at our site close to the lodge for the 5 days we were there. My guess: they went with the cheapest system and got what they paid for. Just another reason this park is not the 9 or 10 it could be.

I reviewed this park last October and everything mentioned there (except for the construction problems which appear to be over for now) still apply. As noted previously, large crowds can cause problems. We were there Memorial Day weekend and many of these weekend guests were loud, ill mannered, and worse. It is bad enough when sites have 3-4 vehicles on them, other campers walk through your site, you can't even relax in the pool without some 15 year old diving (which is not allowed) over you, and there seems to be a "battle of the bands" (radios, CD players, etc.) amongst 3-4 sites within 100 feet of yours. One shift supervisor told me that he has attempted to control these problems in the past but upper management would not let him enforce the rules and kick the offenders out. They are regulars/locals who bring in a lot of business. Money talks! The "coup de grace" was a stabbing at the pool area just after dark on Saturday night. Great during the week, but avoid holidays and summer weekends.

I have been stopping at this park four times a year on my way to and from Louisiana every May and October for years. While I agree with the superlatives in many of the previous reviews, this is ONLY an overnight campground. There are no recreational facilities, paved roads, or cement pads. If it had those, it would be an RV resort and deserve a 10. The free WIFI is only available in or near the office.

This another park I have been to numerous times in the past during our spring and fall trips to MS and LA. It has always met our needs and expectations: full hookups, pull thrus, 60+ channel Cable TV, WIFI, nice pool, etc. Good for a couple days to see the Baton Rouge area or just relax. Denham Springs shopping and restaurants are just the other side (north) of I-12 about 1-2 miles from the park. As previously mentioned, there are seasonal/resident/worker sites. Some people might find the park a bit dusty/dirty since it is not all cement sites, paved roads, and lush grass.

I have stayed here 5-7 days every May and October for 10 years. While I understand the superlatives of other reviews, there are a few upgrades needed to make it a 9: The cable system is only 15 channels and the WIFI needs to be free and park-wide. Additionally they have reduced the 158 listed RV sites to about 100 by replacing the sites with chalets which now total over 100. This can make for a very crowded and rowdy campground on weekends and during the summer.

I have been coming every May and October for over 10 years for about 10 days per visit. I have been through all of their construction phases (1st hotel, parking garage, 2nd hotel) and seen some facilities/services go down hill. The construction was still going on last October and covered everything (including the pool) with dust and dirt during our stay. While I agree that the price is fantastic, I found it offensive when, a couple, years ago they raised the rates over a buck to finance the casino parking garage - a facility I can't imagine a RV customer using.) While I agree, in general, with some of the superlatives of previous reviewers, somethings used to be better: there is now a 5 days a month Passport America limit, regular gambler used to get used to get free nights each month, lodge used to be open 24/7, some pads are aging and tilting, and, more and more often, some utilities hook-ups are not working properly. We paid about $15 for a week of Wi-Fi that worked well, but the daily charge of $3 is a bit steep. Finally, the addition of 50 or so cabins and chalets in the park makes this a sometimes crowded and rowdy park on weekends and during the summer.

I have stayed here every May and October for the past 10+ years. I spend 2 or 3 days at the beginning and end of each trip. It is a typical casino park: mostly paved and not many amenities. I too have experienced the sprinkler problem. Wi-Fi can be picked up in the quieter hotel areas and cable is only about 15 channels. The indoor hotel pool has been closed too many times during my visits.

I have stayed here every May and October for the past 10 years. I used to stay as much as a week but am now down to a couple days because the service continues to worsen. For example: Then: Lodge open 24/7, pool open May through October, and WIFI initially free. Now: Lodge only open 9-12 hours a day, pool open Memorial through Labor Days, WIFI now costs $10.95 a day! Additionally, cable TV is only about 15 channels. In my experience, the once an hour casino shuttle more than unreliable - the problems I have had with it would fill a page. There are reasons Hollywood and Sam's Park get more customers with fewer amenities.

I have stayed here a number of times over the years. Previous reviewers have covered most of the basics. Although it is a little newer and roomier than Hollywood's campground, I usually stay there because I prefer their casino. Like the other two Tunica casino campgrounds, the cable TV is barely cable - maybe 15 channels.

I have stopped here dozens of times over the years travelling between Tunica and Louisiana. I agree with most of the reviews but wonder how such a "bare bones" place can rate an 8 or better. Additionally, many of the pads are a bit short and beginning to deteriorate.

Very good overnight stop. Good cable and WIFI at our site. Lots of seasonals so I would not want to stay on weekends during the summer or football weekends in the fall. Nice pool if the park isn't crowded. Although the park is just off the interstate, there is nothing commercial/retail at the intersection. You have to drive to get to anything.

Stayed here Labor Day Weekend. In addition to being an excellent overnight stop, the park has enough to stay several days: good cable, on site WIFI, pool, close to town. Friendly camper staff during our stay, but that can change from year to year. For those of you who insist on cement pads and paved roads, you may be disappointed with dirt, gravel, and trees. This park may have the best facilities on I-80 in Nebraska.

Good overnight stop. As mentioned in previous review, the new cement sites are the ones to get for overnight. They are in the open but have full hookups and cable. Good above ground pool - maybe 15X25X4'. Auto museum and a few restaurants within 2 blocks.

Albia is on US34 about 50 miles southeast of Des Moines. This is a small motel/RV park complex (2 motel buildings, restaurant, indoor pool, RV park) at the south edge of town on US 34. Stopped here overnight on the way home after a 2 month trip out west. This was the only Iowa park I could find in Woodall's that had a pool, cable TV, and WIFI. All 20 sites are full hookup pull-thrus with good cable TV. The WIFI is "iffy" at best. No reason to go out of your way to come here, but, if you are crossing Iowa on US34, it is the best place to stop.

Stayed here for about 8 days over a 2 week period after the bike week crowd was long gone. In season (July and August), when this park is usually fairly full, it is a VERY tight squeeze for any RV over 30'. The sites are terraced and they have maximized the number of sites. You will be lucky to get out all slides and your awning if you have neighbors on both sides. Other than the site size, the park is well run, has good cable TV and WIFI, and has a nice pool. An earlier review mentioned that you can walk to Deadwood. I did it almost every every day but it is not an easy or safe walk. The park is maybe 500' higher than the town and the first half mile is walking just off the road surface of a winding mountain road with several blind curves. The few times I used the shuttle, the wait was over half an hour. If you don't want/need cable, Whistler's Gulch has roomier sites.

Good overnight stop with all today's RVer's necessities: full hoop-ups, Cable, and WIFI. Enough trees to give some shade. Except for a nice pool, not much to do in park. A quiet park away from the interstates (25 and 90).

Not much to add to other reviews except my basic agreement. Lots of trees for shade. Good cable, WiFi, and proximity to town make it worth more than one night. We stayed four and again on our way back east later in our trip.

Magnificent view - absolutely. Overpriced park - I think so. The park has been in the family for almost 40 years and the current, second generation owners use camper workers to operate and maintain the park. Thus, probably no mortgage and little, if any, payroll. The facilities are just adequate (full hookups, nice sites, OK pool) to disappointing (weak/sporadic WIFI, very old bathroom/laundry facility). If not for the view, this is a $25 park. This park must have one of the highest profit margins in the business. There is no indication that any of the profit is being put back into the park. They need to upgrade the facilities (new bathroom, better WIFI, and add cable) to justify charging almost $40. In 30 reviews for 2006, this is the first time I have lowered a park's rating due to price.

Just joined this recently and was checking places I stayed during my 2+ months on the road last summer. Please ignore the June 2004 review that gave this park a 1. New owners took over in 2005, have made significant improvements, and are terrific people. We stopped for what was to be one night and signed up for a week after we checked the place out. If you can walk 2 miles roundtrip, you can visit everything in town: parks, shops, the Buffalo river, a museum. Nothing spectacular but a great week of using the pool, walking the town, meeting people, and enjoying cable TV and WIFI.

I had been here several times in the past when there were only 15 electric sites at the far end of the casino parking lot. I was looking forward to their new full hookup facility. We called several days ahead and reserved a site for 2 nights. We arrived about noon, parked in the far lot, and walked to the hotel to register. We had to wait 10 minutes for an RV person to show up. She then had to call someone to physically check to see what sites were available. 30 minutes later we were given a site number, walked back the the RV, and drove to the RV park entrance which was blocked by constuction vehicles. Another 10 minutes and we are finally backing into our site. I get out to hook up, see that the electric box is padlocked, walk back to the hotel, complain, and walk back to the site. A few minutes later a guy in a golf cart shows up and unlocks the electric box. I mention the check-in fiasco and he acts as if I am making it up. This makes me believe he's the guy who took 30 minutes to give the hotel the site number. Since there are numerous empty sites, I still don't know why someone had to check for available sites. I is now almost 2PM - it has taken almost 2 hours to check in, get to the site, and hook up!!! It is a great site - large cement pad with trees on both sides and in the back. The view out the front window is of the lake - oops, I mean should be of the lake. The resort is building 3 large cabins right across the in park road from us. They get the lake view. With these three cabins in various stages of construction less than 50 yards from our site, we are subjected to very loud noise from construction machinery, heavy traffic, and workers all over the place during the daylight hours of our 2 day stay. With new utilities, cement pads, sites carved out of a treed area, a 5-10 minute walk to the marina or casino, this park should be at least a 7 for starters. Add cable and WIFI and it would rate higher. The bathroom/laudry buidling was surprisingly shabby. The indoor pool in the 2 story atrium attached to the hotel is nice but they have eliminated the deep water section that had 2 water slides. There was no excuse for an operation this size not to have a smooth check in process. This park has great potential but will never reach it until management learns how to do things right. I have been to several casino resorts where the RV park is a nice facility but poorly run.

Although I am fairly new to this site, I have been RVing for years and stayed in 100 parks all over the country. This is the first park I have been tempted to give a 10. This was our third visit and wanted to stay a week but they were already booked full for all summer weekends by March. Settled for 5 days (Sun-Thur). The only major negative is pay Wi-Fi. Others might not like the openness of the the standard sites and the park's location in a commercial area. This is a big, busy family RV resort.

I have stayed here maybe 6 times over the years. Only an 8 because I am a tough rater. Park needs park-wide, free Wi-Fi. Grass was again like stray when I was there - the area had not had rain in six weeks - same as 2005. Don't blame the park for a drought. During these situations water is too precious to waste on something as frivolous as campground grass. You have to expect lots of kids at a family RV resort in the summer. Just hope I am not "less than desirable."

As previously mentioned, the tight sites and utilities placement are the major negatives for this park. Because the park is fairly full most of the summer, these cramped sites kept me from staying more than one night. Restrooms need to be modernized but the laundry is large and clean. Pool is too small for a park that has a lot of kids. I agree that that it is expensive for the accommodations.

I have stayed here a number of times over the years. The current owners took over maybe 7 years ago and have turned it into a nice full service park: full hookups, good cable, and Wi-Fi. Some sites and roads may be a little tight for big rigs, but you won't find a better park facilities in eastern Montana (and that's a big area). Right off I94, but for those of you concerned about noise, there isn't that much traffic here. I usually stay an extra day because it a nice relaxing park.

If all you want is full hookups and cable for the night, this park is OK. I agree with earlier review about the advertised pool. I had been here 3 years ago and the pool was out of service then. I had planned to stay several nights because I thought there was a pool, but left after one night. Half the sites are seasonal/resident/workers if that bothers you.

I have stayed here numerous times over the years and this park has always delivered: decent sites, nice but small pool, good cable, and on site WIFI. The curent (maybe 7 years) have kept up with the times unlike some owners of older parks. Some of the sites may be a little small for big rigs but there were 5-10 in the park during my 3 day weekend stay. Roads and sites are gravel so there is the potential for dusty conditions. The park atmosphere is friendly and there can be a lot of kids during the summer. Enjoyed a nice "hunter's stew" dinner and a pancake breakfast but passed on the weenie roast. Nothing near the park but Bemidji's big shopping area is just 3 miles east on US 2. Good for overnight or a base camp for seeing northern Minnesota.

I agree with the previous review and would like to add that this may be the best park in the Upper Peninsula. It is one of the few parks in the U.P. with an outdoor pool on good cable TV. Only major negative is lack of Wi-Fi. You can, however, go over to the neighboring motel and get Wi-Fi in their lobby. Great base camp for Marquette, Lake Superior, and the central U.P. Why not an 9 or 10? - I'm a tough grader.

I have camped here numerous times over the years. The facilities have been described in previous reviews. The pool has always been clean when I have been there. I had to sit at an empty site closer to the office to pick up the WIFI. Better WIFI and the addition of Cable TV would improve the rating I gave. It can be a bit dusty but that's the geology and botanical nature of the area - heavily treed areas where grass can't grow would have to be completely paved over to get rid of the problem. This is about as good as it gets in North Dakota.

Nice, open, newer park. Good overnight park or base for local sights (Whitefish, Soo Locks, Taquenahmen Falls) if you don't mind driving an hour. Because they are newer the facilities (hookups, laundry, showers, cable TV) are probably better than anything within 50 miles. Not much for kids to do so it should be quiet. Nice Lake Superior view and natural A/C off the lake keeps it generally cool (under 80) in the summer. Nothing but the casino nearby.

I have been to this older park several times in the past when it was run by some older folks who were letting things slide. Back then I would have given this park a 3. New owners have made some improvements (60+ channel Cable TV and working, on site WIFI) and have done a better job of park maintenence. Most of the full hookup, pull-thrus are in the open, but there are some sites in the pines. The sites and roads are mostly gravel/dirt with what passes for grass up here. The river is across the road and Lake Superior and the town are about a mile. Not much in the park or town but beautiful Porcupine Mountain State Park is only a 20 minute drive. Not a great park, but the best full facility park in the western Upper Penninsula.

I have stopped here every thursday before Memorial Day on the way to Branson for the last 3 years. Nice pool and very good cable TV. We have had a full hookup pull-thru every time and have enjoyed each stay. It could be a little cramped and noisy if the park were full. Some resident/seasonal sites if that bothers you. Very good, full facility, overnight stop for eas/west travelers on I40.

I had stayed here in the past so decided to take advantage of their KOA Hot Deal Free Friday last May. Unfortunately, so did everyone else. Fortunately, we got there fairly early and were able to use the pool before the crowds came in. By evening the park was crowded and their was a constant flow of new arrivals. The "free" offer seemed to entice people to bring lots of extra guests. Many sites appeared to have 7-8 people on them (vs.the normal 2-5). This was one full 185 site park. We were really glad to be leaving Saturday morning. The park has nice faciities but I would avoid it on summer and holiday weekends.

We have stayed here for the last 3 Memorial Day Weekends on the way back north after our annual May trip to MS and LA. We find it a good full facility (hookups, cable, WIFI, pool) to spend 3-4 days off the road on a holiday weekend. Even when full, the park is not cramped or noisy. The site layout is somewhat unique - most sites are on the outside of a "U" shaped field containing the modern bathrooms/laundry, a covered pavilion, and good size pool. There is a small playground for kids. Rate is PPA.

I have stayed here for 2-3 days each of the past three years right after Memorial Day Weekend. This park has all the amenities for overnight or a longer stay: full hookups, good cable TV, adequate WIFI, and a small pool. We've enjoyed each stay and encountered no problems. Some may consider the sites not long or roomy enough for large rigs with slides, but the sites are adequate. While I did walk to Walmart, several other stores, and restaurants in under 20 minutes, many would not consider that to be walking distance. Nice park and a good value for the full amenities
